Finally MEO (formerly Portugal Telecom) have clarified the wording on their mobile internet contracts - they've also removed the speed cap so ALL 4G contracts have unlimited download speed (theoretically up to 150Mbps but real life download speeds are likely to be around 20 to 40+Mbps).

MEO have rewritten their tariffs based on traffic download limits - it must be noted that there was ALWAYS a 15Gb traffic limit written into the terms and conditions of the account, unfortunately MEO sold these as "unlimited". This change seems a fairer way to sell their products and hopefully other carriers with similar "hidden" limits will follow suit.

If you hit your monthly download limit, your internet speed will be reduced to 128Kbps for the rest of the calendar month (enough to download emails and browse the internet) - you will not be charged any extra.

The monthly traffic limits are 1, 5, 15 and 30GB per month - we know these traffic limits can be confusing to some so we are going to put together a guide on how much traffic is used with things like, IPTV, Filmon.com, iPlayer, YouTube etc.
